So...here is what we do ....it's real fun and super cool. HOUSE OF ST. JAMES is a record label. We manufacture, promote and distribute records...but VINYL albums ONLY. Yup old school hard plastic wax type stuff... the kind your Grandma and Grandpa listened to before they met at Woodstock (or a place like it). The same old things my nephew Michael (now 21) called "Giant CD's".
The deal is...we thought it would be fun to make ONLY VINYL RECORD ALBUMS....and release them the old school way. Dropping them off around town, mailing some to ex-college girlfriends that work at relevant radio stations on a hill... or a media service ... (some crazy shit like that.) Oh and social media...we aint stupid. Did you know vinyl records sales have double in the last 2 calendar years? Over all up 67% in the last 7 years. Not to mention that we think songs on vinyl sound better. Our albums also have placement in retail outlets...so there's that!
We dig the touch, the smell, the look, THE SOUND and the mechanics of classic 12" vinyl records. Not to mention that cool cover art ... you know to seed your weed on!
The problem is that the technigue and production of making a VINYL album is a HUGE HUGE HUGE expense. But with a compilation album we all share the expense. At the end of the day you are on vinyl and have a raw product (merchandise to hawk) and we (all) have a super cool album full of dandy tunes.
